Robert Half Dayton has a VERY exciting Director of Human Resources opportunity to announce! The Director of Human Resources will lead and oversee all aspects of our HR functions. This role will be instrumental in shaping the organization’s people strategy, driving change management initiatives, and ensuring compliance with all employment laws and labor agreements. The ideal candidate brings a proven track record in HR leadership, strong employee relations expertise, and a hands-on approach to talent management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across all HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and compliance.
  • Manage and develop HR staff; provide guidance and mentorship to ensure HR best practices are followed.
  • Lead organizational change initiatives, driving alignment between HR strategy and business objectives.
  • Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle; develop and refine talent acquisition strategies to attract and retain top talent.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Administer and interpret Union Collective Bargaining Agreements; serve as a liaison between management and union representatives.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Enhance employee engagement and workplace culture through thoughtful initiatives and effective communication.
  • Establish HR metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of HR programs and drive continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a key advisor to leadership on workforce planning, organizational structure, and succession planning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 7+ years of progressive HR experience at a Manager or Director level.
  • Proven leadership experience, able to manage a team of 3+
  • Demonstrated experience in change management, employee relations, and policy development.
  • Expertise in talent acquisition, employee engagement strategies, and performance management.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, SAP, or similar).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
